Last two CFO interviews I had and got the job were without ties. I stopped
wearing ties during the pandemic except going to the temple and being invited to participate in an ordinance by friends (out or respect to not impact others’ experience by my non tie wearing as I recognize some people consider it a requirement).

Ties are dumb. I wish more women would wear pants to church. Our culture makes us weirder than we need to be. We can be a peculiar people without the extra cultural weirdness. As I drive by a few other churches and see men walking through the parking lot, no one is wearing ties. Very few women wearing dresses.

Church culture is VERY strong. Stronger than inertia. It isn’t doctrine, and never will be.
