With the roster we got, we SHOULD have 6'9 Catchings playing at Knells spot — not out on the top of the perimeter. Granted, Catchings is getting very good out there — but if he is out there we'd be better served playing a 6'10 Boskovic or a 6'9 Mboup — or even Richie — at Knell's defensive spot.

I realize Knell's been playing solid D where he's at — but he's not overpowering there, & he's not much threat as a rebounder or as a help defender in the paint like he ideally SHOULD be. What we really need is optimal defensive versatility from all our guards when we're eating the sorta athletic deficit we do against the Houstons of the Big12. If we had a Chaz Lanier in our starting lineup — or if we could streamline Xavion Staton into our rotation, maybe — we'd be able to better accommodate a guy like Knell. As it goes, though, we just don't have the speed or physicality to cover. Not against the top athletic teams in the conference, anyway.
