AJ was everything I thought he'd be and more.
Where to start? He's very, very quick both with the ball and playing defense. He's skinny but didn't seem weak at all. His wingspan really stood out, as did his court vision, athleticism and handles. I watched the second half of the game just prior where the 2026 number one recruit was playing for Notre Dame HS out of California (AJ was a 2026 kid that re-classified to 2025). That kid could really jump, but is a few inches smaller (still 6' 7 or 6'6"), and didn't have the ball skills or defend as well as AJ.

Who does he remind me of? I'm gonna say he's got a Kevin Garnett body type with the game of a young, unpolished Kobe. Yes, I said it. He's the real deal. I can't believe he's signed with BYU. He's so, so talented. So quick, has the vision, the dribbling, the attitude. He's got good body language, seems a good teammate, and let the game come to him. Completely impressed.

I recorded an alley-oop that he threw down on a fast break, and he nearly dunked from inside the freethrow line, but was fouled (missed recording that one).
