It would be hard and a bit silly to argue that these coaches do not know what they are doing, or cannot figure things out.
That said, some people pointed out that NBA to college is not always a successful transition.
I don’t think this group is necessarily bound for failure, but looking at the collective season, I’m also seeing some issues, many of which have reared their heads rather consistently.
It may simply be that in their first year of coaching college ball together, there are a number of things the staff has not figured out just yet. Doesn’t mean they won’t. Doesn’t mean they can’t. But we may not get the instant returns on their apparent recruiting prowess.
It happens. Just ask pre-Pope Kentucky.
