It would be dumb for anybody to give up on the team. I see two teams(possibly 3)
that are a tough match for BYU. Houston is one of them. Iowa State and potentially Kansas are the other. Everyone else in the big 12, BYU can hang with. Fortunately, big 12 usually gets anywhere from 7-9 bids. Move on and play better next game.
