He was out ministering with the SP and they got into a small conversation, wondering if Chris maybe had too much on his plate and if it was better with him not serving as a Bishop.

Chris decided to go off schedule and take the SP with him to visit the home of a less active member they had planned to visit as a Bishop Presidency at some point.

Chris knocked on the door and a gentleman answered. They introduced themselves and asked if they could spend a couple mins with him..."no, not a good time." Then the gentleman recognized Chris and asked if he was the guy from the Steelers. Chris said yes and then then, ironically the person found time and invited them in. 30 mins later they person had agreed to come out to church the next Sunday.

Chris later explained to the SP he was given a blessing to play in the NFL. Part of that blessing was becoming recognizable by the fans in the area. It was now his opportunity to use that to open the hearts of the people in that area. There was no way he didn't want to be the Bishop and not bless the people.

I'm paraphrasing it all but it shows the kind of person he is. He never took for granted the blessing he was given to play football at the highest levels. Jaimee kept him grounded in many ways. She was everything to him and it's sad to see her pass. But when he says he believes the in Plan of Salvation I 100% believe he does and really believe he will be with her again one day.
