committed to play OL for BYU — but switched to the yewts after his mission??

I ask, cuz I was actually a young teenager (14ish) in the ward that was the first area of his mission (yeah, I'm talking a LONG time ago — mid-80s). I knew he & his companion well — we were one of about three families in the ward that were within walking distance of their place, so they were over our house quite a bit, & I would go on splits with them on occasion.

Anyway, I had quite a few one-on-one conversations with Neelaman — & as I RECALL he was set to be a OL at BYU, & had gotten permission to leave on the mish a few months earlier than his 19th birthday so he could return in time for fall camp.

Clearly, that's NOT how things worked out, though. So either my memories of the details got whacked over time — or he SWITCHED schools. And, honestly, I think my memories are right on this one.
