My ancestors definitely got caught up in the gold rush. Most of them that were around then died
in California mining towns no matter where they born . I think I would have made similar decisions even without their influence. Because eventhough '75 isn't peak Gold Rush years...that's right around the time California got the railroad connected to the Eastern US so I feel like I would be in California either woking for a railroad or tapping out the mines still.
