The Honey browser extension is pretty sleazy and they are getting sued. Honey claimed to automatically find coupon codes
when you are shopping online to get you the best deal when buying something. They sponsored a huge amount of content creators over the past few years to promote themselves. However, they were really doing 2 things:

#1- the browser extension changed the affiliate link at the last second so Honey always got the commission for the sale even if the buyer was referred by somebody else and even if Honey didn’t find any coupon codes for the user. This has content creators hoppin mad about stolen affiliate commissions.

#2- Honey accepted money from online retailers to make sure that the coupon codes that they did provide to the Honey users were not the best coupons that were available. This has Honey users hoppin mad about not getting the best deals that they thought they were getting.
