Infrared are hyped because they claim to penetrate the cells deeper and detoxify. But after sitting in one, I was underwhelmed. It didn’t get very hot and wasn’t very comfortable.
A traditional Finnish sauna will get much hotter and is more of an experience. Allegedly, It helps build heat shock proteins that slow down the aging process.
The heater I’m putting in will go as high as 220 degrees F. So the other benefit is I can cook myself with a pork butt next to me in the sauna:)
