One of the women in the award said she had cut missionaries’ hair before. It was the worst haircut imaginable. It looked like it had to be intentionally cut that bad. It proved the old adage, “What’s the difference between a good haircut and a bad haircut? About 6 weeks.” completely wrong.
I was transferred later that week. After I had been in the new area for a while, one of the members asked me about the haircut. I explained the situation. They responded, “That makes sense. We (plural) thought maybe you just had a real unique sense of taste.” It must have come up in Relief Society.
I still chuckle about it.
