One area for improvement, IMO
Playclock management.

So many times BYU gets up to the LOS very discombobulated, leaving them only a couple seconds to snap the ball. They need to get to the line and have at least 10 seconds left on the play clock to give the QB time to look over the defense and potentially call an audible. BYU seems worse than average on this.

Also, along the same lines, when BYU has a two score lead or so in the 4th quarter, so many times they hike the ball with 8-12 seconds left on the play clock. Get up to the LOS, and get comfortable, and let it click down to 2 seconds or less before hiking it. In numerous games this year where the game was still in doubt in the 4th quarter, BYU has been very inefficient in this regard. I watch other teams and pay attention to them with this, and most other teams seem to have no problem hiking with one or two seconds on the playclock in these 4th quarter time management situations. Again, BYU is worse than average at this. It would be nice if they could slice an extra 1.5 minutes from the clock in the 4th quarter by being efficient here.

I know, in half the games running the play clock down was irrelevant because BYU was up 3-4 scores in the 4th quarter. But those are the times you practice doing it in real situations so that when you are in a tight(er) game, it is second nature.

Yeah, these are minor things, but errors in this area could cost BYU a game or two if made at the wrong time and in the wrong game. I have noticed BYU being sub-par on this and would just like to see them execute better at it. It does not take inherent skill to do better here, just some awareness and a little attention to it in practice.
