They are well on their way to accomplish their goal while retaining all the
current members.
Under the current CFP agreement, they, the ACC, Big 12, and PAC 12 receive 14.2% of the net revenue. Any changes requires unanimity from the 10 conferences.
Under the new contract, beginning in 2026, the Big Ten and SEC will see their distribution increases to 29% each. Any chance to the contract requires a simple majority and the P2 will be able to get enough of the others to agree to any change.
They have the largest media contract and, as events have demonstrated, their TV partners are more than willing to help them in their quest for control.
