my “Job or career” is a tool

No one grows up wanting to be an accountant and shows up at 3rd grade show and tell with a calculator and a spreadsheet.

It is a great, high demand career that can pay well and like you said, provide you with tools to get things that you actually want in life. And I applaud you for it. But it certainly isn't glamorous. It is however very practical and there's nothing wrong with that.

But when the OP says their job is boring and then says they're an accountant, let's just say that that is the least surprising answer I've ever heard.
