Intervention Needed
So for those of you more knowledgeable, what simulations do coaches use
to help accelerate decision making.
In soccer, we do things like make the offense go 3 v. 5, in tight space.
What does one to help a QB simulate being pressured to make the right throw?

SJS, what's humorous about that? Isn't it the primary time he makes mistakes?

Have you sent this tip to the coaches?

Of course, they know this but he didn't progress this year in that regard.

No, I think you are onto something. They should practice this with simulated pressure.

Maybe football drills have something similar to soccer:

And you could mix it up:

I'm gonna see if I can find ARod's email.

They are probably already doing something like this, or maybe they aren't.

One thing for certain is that my kid's HS coach is gonna get an email with these ideas.

I would do a lot of testing of my QB, and have a nerd take down the stats

This thread is bonafide "no skips"

I am sure he and the coaches are well aware of this deficiency.

That is what is frustrating for me.

If he can just make better decisions, his batted balls and inaccurate throws

What evidence is there that he's any different from other qbs in the red zone? CBers seem to have created this narrative

I haven't compiled data so I'm working from memory:

He was definitely not being pressured on either of the 1st 2 throws you mention

Did he just make read errors on those throws?
Archaea
Jan 2, 1:13pm
On the OU one, he made the right pre-snap read. OU defense was way out of place
RGGeemer
Jan 2, 1:17pm
so on one, OU adjusted well and against Kansas, it was his execution error.

Yep.

Quick comparison — Jalen Milroe had 3 redzone INTs this year by my count

Yeah, I'm not sure he's NFL ready. It seems the NFL is over-paying for players
Archaea
Jan 2, 1:31pm
So what should we have him do? Just never throw when he's being pressured?
RGGeemer
Jan 2, 1:03pm
He needs to learn to recognize the correct throw to make.

You still gotta go out there and try to win the game. can't just go for 3 yards and a cloud of dust once you're in the
