You do not become a college football coach if you prioritize stability — you become a teacher if that is your priority.
You go into college football coaching because a combination of the following — in no particular order:

1. You have an actual obsession/addiction to football. (Yes, I have multiple cousins and brothers who played college football and coaches are 100% addicted to football).

2. You prefer hanging with the guys over family time. (If your family was your top priority, you don’t pursue a job that requires consistent 18 hr days and numerous days away from home).

3. You like the prospect of making a great living while doing a job that really isn’t much of a “job” and more of a hobby.

If family, stability and traditional things are your priority then coaching is not a good route for you.
