That’s because that’s how it’s portrayed in the media. It’s a pretty religious
Group. Lots of Catholic private schools. It’s a very catholic community. At least that was my experience when I lived there. I actually quite liked it there. My preconceived feelings about the city were mostly proven wrong. Sure the French Quarter is party central but NOLA is a pretty great place with lots of really good people. Even Mardi Gras is 90% family friendly.
