They’ve gotten their product to a high technical point, but something like The Cut is still lacking narrative and is more of a fun pep video post game.

It seems to be trying to imitate NFL Films or something similar. It is really well done but does feel like they need what you identify. Narrative of the game. It feels like they need a new editor or a philosophy switch in their editing to build that narrative of telling the story of the game as it unfolds.

With that being said (!) BYU football media is doing a great job representing and capturing the program and I feel like I’m looking a gift horse in the mouth…but I’m a video editor myself so I’m not just a high maintenance fan and I think about these things.
