defense got were less about bad decisions by Shadeur and more about great defensive plays. The hard hit that popped the ball in the air, great hit and great awareness and control to catch it. Then the diving catch by Glasker was a really great play on the ball. Not to mention those picks didn’t happen when Colorado was driving down field and in scoring position, all 3 picks we threw were in Colorado territory and in field goal range.
The shovel pass INT was just Colorado blowing up the play, but the other two were completely avoidable and more about our guys making poor decisions than it was about Colorado’s defense. Jake threw late across the middle in the red zone, throwing it straight into the arms of a defender. He should’ve thrown that ball away. We got really tricky with G Bo throwing the ball but he made a bad read and a bad throw, also straight into the arms of a defender. That one also happened when we were at or near field goal range.
We were driving down field with regularity all game. Half of Colorado’s offensive production came from 2 plays. They had five plays all game that went for 10+ yards. Two of those plays happened on their last drive of the game. We had 15 plays go for 10+.
The game could have very easily been blown open far worse than it was. It was total domination.
