BYU isn’t in it. I don’t think they’d beat Texas, but they are every bit as good as half the teams that made the playoff.

Next year BYU has a legitimate shot to make some noise in the playoffs. They should be ranked in the 10-13 range in the preseason poll, giving them some more margin for error to drop a game or maybe two and still get at-large consideration.

The offense is returning most of its production and could be even better next year, defense is losing some dudes but returning a lot of studs and getting some help from the portal. Next year is a HUGE opportunity for this team and program.

For decades winning a national championship has been effectively impossible for BYU. Now being in a P4 conference, expanded playoff, and the parity that NIL and transfer portal has created, we have been upgraded to a greater than zero percent chance.
