Haha, I saw that too. In reality, there is almost no "game changing" players in college football, at least not compared
with college basketball where any one player can make a huge difference to the team. At least in college football, you have 22 playmakers that each can have a big impact, but only a couple can by themselves actually take over a game, and that's not usually at the line level. At the line level, the entire unit can have a huge impact, and the other team will need to account for a big play guy, but so in that sense the comment is arguably correct but significantly overstated.
The truth is that their (the U's) problems are more about the optics of continually losing significant playmakers. Whether they are "game changers" is just copium that is beside the point of the broader trend.
