To be fair Utah had a strange season accompanied by significant
bad luck. Independent of BYU’s great season, I don’t think the Big 12 took Utah’s best shot.
But it is amazing how quickly the advantages built up with a decade+ of P5 affiliation seem to have wilted away. Some level of parity between the two was likely over time but NIL has been one heck of catalyst to that end.
