Basketball and football are not alike. Why? There are a ton of interconference games in
basketball and not very many in football.
Oh not to mention that there are far more conferences and teams in basketball than football that are mostly irrelevant.
Oh and you didn't even get the numbers right. 4/8 is not equivalent to 16/16.
