Compartment syndrome has to do with swelling. Infection, traumatic injury,
Whatever is causing the inflammation, could be a bunch of things. Sounds like they're gonna do a fasciotomy and remove some tissue to allow for the expansion. Hopefully they can control the swelling and regresses soon. The issue with compartment syndrome is cutting off the blood supply because of so much inflammation and could lead to amputation. Wish I could tell you more, but hope all goes well.
