I think it's tiresome
It' so boringly cliche that it not only fails to set you apart when you say it, it makes you sound like a lame copycat.
"I'm motivated by made-up nonsense" is a dumb thing to say. It's worse the better and less questioned the team/player, but it's lame from any of them IMO.
