And I mentioned in my post how we were so sad to miss out on the best housing market in decades (09-13ish). We didn’t have the money and saw people in our ward and stake buying homes for super cheap ($450-$500k). When we finally bought in ‘17, home prices in OC had doubled since 2010.
Sure, rates are higher and affordability is down, but I bet rates will creep lower in the next few years.
Miss me with the trust fund crap. I’m the youngest of eight kids and paid for everything on my own. Zero help with school, car, marriage, housing, nada. We sacrificed so much and saved every dime for the first decade of our marriage. It sucked and it was hard. But we knew we wanted to be here longterm. I was also intentional about going into finance where I knew my earning potential could be higher. If you want it bad enough, you’ll find a way to make it work.
Did I have some luck along the way? Sure. But like I said, we missed out on the BEST market by far and still made it work.
