Indiana, SMU, and Tennessee also played the #4, 5, and 6 teams nationally
(on the road), rather than the #23 team.
Fact is, at the time the committee made its decision, it included the correct teams, SMU included. We had 2 losses and appeared to be regressing.
If the shoe had been on the other foot, every single person on this board would have lost their mind if a 1-loss BYU team were left out in favor of any 2-loss team in the country.
It’s frustrating that we lost to Kansas, especially when we saw them play so well yesterday. And I think BYU showed yesterday that they could have done some damage in the playoff. But the committee made the right decision at the time.
