Problem is, these are things we learned AFTER the playoff decision was made. So it’s more aggrevating than anything.
So yeah, be upset BYU got left out. But you can’t be surprised. The talking heads in college football told us all year that the BIG 12 wasn’t on the same level. No surprise only one team made it.
This is why all teams from the 4 conferences should be required to play two out of conference games against teams in the other three. One at home, one on the road.
Then we would at least have data on how the conferences size up in any given year. I’m so tired of the SEC refusing to play outside the south. No excuse for them not to travel into Yankee country once a year. They can show those northern aggressors how real football is played!
If we want the best teams possible in the playoffs, we need to see how teams from different conferences do head to head. Then we would at least have some idea on conference strength.
