So last night I'm sitting at a table with my sister at her son's/my nephew's wedding reception. She mentions her new daughter-in-law's name and someone at the table says 'that's not how you pronounce the bride's name. It's pronounced Julianna' (with the A like apple, not with the A like awesome). My sister says, 'I don't think so.' So she calls over the bride and asks 'how do you pronounce your name?' The bride responds Julianna. (With the A like apple, not A like awesome). My sister responds 'I can't believe I've been saying it wrong this whole time.' She then calls over her husband and asks him how he pronounces the bride's name and confirms he's been saying it wrong as well. She then proceeds to ask all of her kids and finds out everyone in the family is making the same mistake. So she asks her husband, 'how is it that ALL of us have it wrong?' So finally she calls over her son, the groom and asks him how he pronounces his new wife's name. He confidently responds by pronouncing it wrong. The whole table erupted in laughter. He got a confused look on his face and the bride says 'no' and correctly pronounces her name. That poor guy is going to have a difficult time living down that one.
