is where has that pass rush and aggressive play calling been all year? For the most part, BYU has played relatively conservatively which, again, has been pretty consistent under Sitake regardless of who the DC has been. Now I'm not saying that Hill and Tuiaki are the same because it's not even close quite frankly but overall BYU has still struggled mightily in forcing punts and getting the other team's offense off the field.
I'm just not a big fan of letting opposing QBs start out hot even though I know teams often come out on their first drive with a bit of trickery.
And yes I understand the Colorado doesn't have a great OL but still we saw looks and blitzes we have rarely seen for most of the season.
Was BYU able to do what they did on defense purely due to having more time to prepare? Again, why did we not see more of this during the season especially on 3rd and longs? That is my only real beef. And I sometimes feel that Sitake only mixes things up when he feels like he absolutely has to and his back against the wall instead of, at times, being more aggressor just in general.
I also acknowledge that the defense completely caught Colorado off guard which is a big reason they struggled so much. In that regard, I suppose it's good to be conservative and only selectively be super aggressive. Again, though, it seems to me BYU could be aggressive far more often than they are.
