We all know that human nature is to start to relax when things go well. Winning a game like this could have the potential to send this team into the offseason overconfident and maybe not 110% dedicated to improving each day. It’s much easier to feel the need for the pain when you finish the season losing 5 straight.
But with the way the ESPN crew disrespected us during that game - I think we need to take it personal and come into the next season not as the favorites, but as the criminally under-appreciated, chip-on-the-shoulder underdogs who understand that the entire system (playoff committee, espn, large conferences) are actively out to get us.
The only thing we can do to stop them from ignoring us is to repeatedly punch them in the mouth so hard that they have no other choice but to feel our presence. Here’s to a special offseason grind to set up 1984 Part II!
