That covenants do two things: create a relationship with the divine and give access to its power.

Sounds like stormlight mythology where the more oaths you make, the stronger your bond with the piece of divinity following you everywhere. And each new covenant brings new power in very visible ways. How would it be if we imagined spren bursting with light around us everytime we keep a covenant? And it's interesting that I'm SA saying the words of a covenant didn't matter until you MEANT it.
