and getting into the CCG. Which we would likely have won. BYU very nearly got a spot in the playoffs where we would have had a shot at the National Championship.
Winning ten games was much better than anyone in the football media thought BYU would do. The Cougars are a fat better team than expected. We just missed getting into the CCG but we did get a bowl game.
The football media was almost all convinced BYU would lose to a high powered Colorado. BYU was given almost no chance at all to beat the highly publicized Buffalos what with their Heisman trophy winning star all-everything player and top three likely NFL pick QB and flashy media loved coach.
No, BYU had no chance whatsoever to win the Alamo Bowl. It was great we got to play in the Alamo Bowl but don't bother thinking BYU could win that game. Turns out the football media was wrong again. BYU is a much better team than we got credit for.
Not only did BYU win the Alamo Bowl and beat highly favored Colorado but BYU crushed Coach Prime and his star-studded team. Sent them back to Boulder in tears. The game was never close, BYU took control and never looked back.

Sure the BYU QB threw some awful passes that got picked off. But the Colorado top three NFL pick QB and Coach Prime's son couldn't move the ball and get any scores until BYU had the game under control. BYU proved we were clearly the better team. BYU crushed favored Colorado.
The Alamo Bowl was a great win for BYU. Putting the cap on a great season. BYU fans won't forget the great coaches and players that make up this team. We won't forget their great accomplishments. How we overcame the odds and won games we were not supposed to win.
BYU fans should be pretty satisfied. We can bask in our glory and talk about next year. What it will take to get there again and maybe go that one step further.
