I also think the spread QBs struggle in transition to NFL. NFL defenses are more complex and fast than previous generation as well. Top paying contracts now include edge rushers where RBs used to be premium. As a result, mobile QBs are also a premium, but they are also prone to error reading more complex defense. I suspect any coach would say he’d rather season a QB than throw him to the wolves like Caleb Williams and Zach Wilson.
