It could be the frequency they're using, your antenna type, and your location.
I can pick up all channels in the Salt Lake Valley with a simple flat antenna very well. Except CBS.
To get CBS I have to use an antenna on the second floor of my house. I blame my neighbor's willow tree. It's right in my line of sight to Farnsworth Peak.
