I fine the Big XII tiebreaker rules compelling. They're also very similar to the tiebreaker procedures for the SEC, B1G, and ACC.
What specific Big XII rules would you change?
More to the point, how would you support your argument that other teams were more deserving than ASU and Arizona State? Heading into the conference championship game, the consensus was that those were the two best Big XII teams (see the CFP rankings, as well as the AP and Coaches Polls for that week).
BYU lost a head-to-head game against ASU just two weeks earlier in a situation that everyone recognized as a more or less "win and in" scenario.
And as far as Iowa State is concerned... I can't imagine a rule change that would put BYU in over Iowa State this year, and I definitely can't imagine a rule change that wouldn't just as easily work to BYU's disadvantage in years to come.
But there was a very easy way for BYU to get into the championship game, even with a loss to ASU. Beat a bad Kansas team at home.
