A 10 win season in a P5 conference should have a better outcome than a 3rd place
bowl game against a conference opponent.
That’s my argument and it’s a good one.
Also BYU would not have won the National Championship if they played a WAC team in the Holiday bowl.

Lavell didn't care about bowl games at all (see bowl record), they were just vacations for the team and their wives
