Did you know that Keelan Marion was one of only 4 kick returners in the nation with 2 kick off returns for TD this year?
He was also 17th in the nation in kick return yards with 472 and 22nd in average kick off yards.
Given Marion's success, Kingston's nearly ubiquitously played punt return vs. K State and BYUs well executed trick plays on special teams this year (let's forget about the ASU onside kick that gave us a taste of our own medicine... ugh), is BYU becoming Special Teams U?
Side note, I want to believe this because I'm a BYU fan, but it feels like the proliferation of special teams trickeration has picked up since BYU started having more success with those kinds of plays.
It's more likely I'm just seeing it more given my sports-heavy follows on X / insta and they are highlighting those kinds of plays more regularly.
I mention this year referring to the Bowling Green 4th and 20 play vs. Arkansas State - link below.
