Two years ago on the day offer Christmas I started a daily ritual of moving at least one mile on my feet. I can walk, run, snowshoe, hike, whatever, as long as it's on my feet using my own energy. These past two years have also been some of my most stressful with health scares, work, kids getting older, and for most of the last year, building a house (my kids have learned so many new skills!). I have recognized levels of stress that I'd never experienced before, but my daily mile has helped manage stress and maintain positive physical activity.
Since you're likely off work today and thinking about making healthy changes, consider starting with a daily mile. It's never so much that you can't find time to do it (hcbw and I often go after dark, just before bed), but it's also long enough to help both physical and mental health. Today is as good a time to start as any!
