comforter tight, apparently to make it all look flat. 

Did not realize that was a thing until several years into marriage. 

I made the bed regularly,  but I would come back to the bed looking much better than how I left it, and could never figure out what my wife did to fix it.  It was like magic.  

My wife would never say anything but just go in and fix it by pulling everything tight.
