But if I can also make this suggestion - about 4 years ago I sprained my ankle playing basketball for the 7th time in under 2 years. It was starting to feel like I couldn't play ever again and I was a whopping 33 years old so it was pretty frustrating. I found a social media guy around that time named "beardthebestyoucanbe" on instagram. He promotes joint and mobility training through a philosophy called kin stretch. The ankle stuff he teaches has worked tremendously for me. I am not pretending it makes me invincible, but I have not sprained since I started and my strength and mobility in my ankles allows me to roll an ankle consistently without significant injury. In June I was running a trail race and stepped on a rock and rolled as hard as I have in my life. 4 years ago in the same circumstance I would have probably torn all the ankle ligaments off the bone and been immobile for 2 months. This year I finished the race (little bit of pain, but still got it done). I say all this to say - if you haven't tried some basic ankle strengthening it might be worth it. It certainly has taken my ankles lightyears ahead of where they used to be. Thought I'd share in case yo haven't tried something along those lines.
