Footprints: A Utah Football Reflection
One night, a Utah fan dreamed of walking along the beach of college football glory. Scenes from the season flashed across the sky, and alongside each scene, the fan noticed two sets of footprints in the sand: one belonging to their team, and the other to their loyal fans.

At the beginning of the season, there were two sets of footprints. These were the days of triumph, walking together in victory over Florida and Baylor.

But as the dream continued, the fan noticed something strange. During the hardest part of the season—the long, painful losing streak—there was only one set of footprints.

The team turned to the fans, hurt and confused. "You promised to stand by us. Why, during our darkest days, did you abandon us?"

The fans replied, "Abandon you? We both left. Those footprints belong to Mark Harlan, wandering the field to find a ref to complain to."

The team nodded solemnly, then glanced further down the beach, noticing another set of footprints at the very end—for the victory over UCF. The team smiled weakly.

"Ah, but you came back to celebrate with us in our triumph over mighty UCF!"

The fans shook their heads. "Not quite. That extra set of footprints belongs to Satan’s lawyer, responding to your coach’s early season claims that the devil breached his contract."

Finally, the team asked with desperation, "Will you be with us next season, as we run through this truck stop conference and rise again?"

The fans sighed. "Run through it? We’ll stick around for a game or two, but don’t expect us to help when you’re stuck in line at the Buc-ee’s."
