What's the problem? It's a commuter school in an LDS community, where the proper mindset for all LDS people is to cheer for BYU first, then other schools after that if they want. I get there are some that aren't yet behaving correctly, but that's besides the point.
BYU is the jewel of the state and the school positioned (and accomplished already) for the most national success academically and athletically, and obviously the only one with a national following. So as a local Utahn, it makes sense to want to push resources towards the state's flagship school.
It's all very logical, and I can't think of a reason to complain about it. Just because the order was upset by some anti-religious bigotry for a few years doesn't change reality.
