3 loss Oklahoma team that finished #11, a 4 loss Arizona team that finished #19, and a great TCU team doesn’t mean they’ve been the more impressive program or have better all times wins compared with BYU lol.

2006 over OU gets them some clout, even if TCU was the best of those opponents they were still G5. Boise and TCU got the middle finger that year. And nobody’s bragging about beating Arizona.

Would’ve been fun to see Boise in a 12 team playoff during that 6 year stretch. They would’ve held their own much like BYU from ‘80-‘85 would’ve, and BYU in ‘96, and BYU in 2001 (with their Doak Walker winner), and probably even BYU in 2020.

Had the BCS/NY6/12 team playoff existed over the last 40-50 years, BYU would’ve had plenty of appearances. They weren’t really given an opportunity like Boise. You don’t see Penn St declining to play Boise like how it was back in the day
