The logic being applied to SMU and Indiana is idiotic.
We know nothing about how the other teams would have fared in these games.
The only things that we know are that having home field advantage is huge and Notre Dame, Penn State, Texas, and Ohio State are all pretty good.
Football wins/losses aren't transitive.
