TIL that Elf, which did $230m at the box office on a $33m budget and is one of the most heavily syndicated movies on TV
each December, has not turned a profit (at least according to the last update on it which was given ~11 years after it's release).
Not quite Return of the Jedi levels of ridiculous, but still so very stupid. Hollywood accounting should be illegal.
