Rather than distinguish itself from the NFL, CFB is trying to make itself more similar to the NFL. But in doing so, it just makes the contrast even more stark. The NFL playoffs are a much better product. With its strict salary cap, the NFL parity makes you feel like every team has a chance.
Even with 4 team, the CFP had lots of blowouts. Expanding the playoffs has the potential to allow in more unqualified teams, resulting in more blowouts. Until CFB figures out a way to even out the playing field, the CFP will always be a crappy version of the NFL playoffs.
If this results in more SEC and B1G teams I'm fine with it. Just like how as a soccer fan, I'd prefer the World Cup to have more UEFA and CONMEBOL teams and less CONCACAF, AFC, and CAF team, even it sometimes comes at the expense of my team.
