Much of it was hatred for the refs not for BYU. The stadium was upset with the refs and protesting the ref's calls. More
than 100 things were thrown on the field after that game. I have no idea how many of them were intended to hit BYU players, but it's clear that nearly all of them missed.
It makes me think that the vast majority of them had no intention of hitting anyone. They were just protesting what they thought was a bad holding call
Now admittedly... they are Yewt fans and I can't expect them to have a very good arm but if most were trying to hit our guys.. more would have connected.
