The thing that the Big 12 lacks is a blue blood brand. I no longe think that the SEC or B1G are that interested in further expansion. And i do think these national conferences are presenting problems that no one really realized would be there before they expanded the way they did. And this is particularly true with the B1G. Their conference is unwieldy in how spread out it is. And the big question is does Clemson and FSU really bring that much more value to either o of these conferences.
The Big 12 is a solid conference, but it lacks a big name or two. If they coul dsomehow get Clemson and FSU to join, it would really solidify the conference and make it a formidable one in terms of TV revenue.
I could be wrong, but those are my thoughts.
