Ultimately it depends on your budget. I bought my Odyssey (seats 8) new in 2012 for $38k EX-L, its about to hit 200k miles. But you definitely have to keep up on the maintenance. Just did the timing belt and water pump for the 2nd time due to the time belt tensioner going bad. Over time I've had to replace the battery, alternator, both front axels (separately), spark plugs (pain). But those are expected wear and tear items that any car is going to have to replace once you hit 120k+ miles. In addition to the regular oil changes, brakes and rotors, and tires.
Or you can get used, higher mileage Suburbans for cheaper, but they're not as reliable as the Odyssey and get worse gas mileage. I have 07 that I use mostly as a 3rd vehicle. Not terribly expensive to fix, but has more issues than my Odyssey.
